Exceptional modhu and fascination with the sahib visitor at Rongazuma; a loyal dobashi |

25/1/1926 To Rongazuma, through Chipfozuma and passing Kholazumi, a long march. Rongazumi was keeping a genna and the whole village was at home every soul with a cup of modhu. Sahibs are rare visitors here and a huge crowd collected to watch this one feed. They had a brew of modhu such as I have only once tasted the equal of, and such that one could drink it with pleasure even when not athirst. In Chipfozuma I observed that the dobashi who lives there had a framed photograph of the King Emperor hanging conspicuously in his verandah. |
