Description of and anecdote concerning Christian converts |
text: |
22/2/1926 To Kohima. On the way I met some unpleasant looking Angami of Chazubama whom I discovered were Christian converts, whence their untidy and generally dishevelled appearance. It was on this tour that I heard of Yezetha, a notorious crook and leader of the Sema Church in Mokokchung, who asked a dobashi to come and drink zu inside his house, as he dare not drink outside since God would see him. This Yezetha was for years interned in his village and though let out a year ago had to be returned again last year for his multifarious misdeeds. |
