text: 4/4/1926 To Sirhema and back - about 5 miles and then to Piphima a hot and dusty walk along the cart road.
text: There were three or four villages at Piphema. I gave Kabvoma leave to slay a solitary elephant reported to be damaging their millet provided they accomplished it in 15 days and brought the tusks to Kohima. Enthusiasm then seemed to abate and I heard no more of the awful damage done to the crop.
