text: 11/12/1926 To Dimapur by train - from Naginimara leaving at 2 p.m. standard and arriving on the 12th at 3.30 a.m. The Dak Bungalow at Dimapur needs new curtains and new blankets and I ordered the recaning of 7 chairs.
text: The khansama is perpetually worrying about his house being too small. He is also asking for an increase in pay, which I have told him he cannot have.
text: The police quarters in the thana are in very bad repair and there is no money to do the special repairs needed. These thatched buildings are most uneconomical and it is quite time proper quarters to the thana were built at Dimapur. The project for it dates to some pre-war age, and there is no likelihood of this thana's ever being moved or scrapped. A tin roof would save a great deal of money in the end.
text: To Kohima by lorry leaving most of my mal to come on by cart.
