text: Sent my camp to Kilomi - 11 or 12 miles - and went myself to the Alato ridge to settle the land dispute between Khuivi and Satakha with Kilomi and Zhekiya holding watching briefs, as it were. It was a complicated business and the boundaries given are separately recorded. On the way back I dealt with another land dispute between Khuivi and Kilomi. Having left camp at 7.15 a.m. I got in at 6.35 p.m. having been on my legs the whole day barring 15 minutes at lunch time. The actual distance marched cannot have been more than 16 or 17 miles but the coming and going and climbing up and down hill side to see where a boundary could go were much more exacting than the march.
text: Coming into Khuivi along the bridle path I received numbers of complaints about non-payment by the Civil Works for work done on the path.
