To Bhandari. One house here has raised five maunds of lac. The crop this year, however, will mostly be distributed as seed and only about 50 to 100 maunds exported. Next year they say the crop for export will be about 1000 maunds. |

Halted Bhandari. The Lhotas complain of obstruction and ill treatment at Oating Hat. They say that one Subed Ali a Sylheti takes two pice from all Nagas attending the hat and refuses to allow them to sell chillies etc. which they bring for sale, asserting that he has the right to do so. The Nagas say that it is a public hat, but others that it is proprietory and belongs to an Indian owned tea-garden. |
