A method of fishing used by Semas |

To the Lazemi - Sheshalimi path, when I inspected the proposed site for a temporary wire bridge to keep open direct communications in the rains. From the 13th on the river consists of a series of beautiful runs and pools but never a fish above 4 inches - the Semas have it absolutely skinned, and they use no "poison" or anything of that sort. All they do is to make little stone ridges at the runs so as to get the rush of water at one place, heap earth on these runs which carry it all over the pool and then used their casting nets. The materials are almost innocent but the result is a river without a fish that can't get through the meshes of a throw-net. The effect of so called "poisoning" is mild compared to this. About 7 miles. Plenty of litigants here. |
