text: To Mao for inter-district sessions. A joint representation was put up by the people of Manipur and of the Naga Hills asking that May, June and July be strictly avoided for the inter-district sessions in future as the interference with cultivation is serious. This is a very reasonable proposition and it is perfectly true that attendance in these months does constitute a hardship at a time when labour in fields is sometimes at a premium of Rs.2/- a day. August would be a better month or early September. The date should be after the millet is all harvested and well before the rice harvest begins.
