Down to the Sidzu river crossing it by the new bridge at 2700 ft. then up to about 4000 ft. on the way to Kekrima. From there we dropped down into the valley again by a steep Naga path, crossed a stream at 3000 ft.and climbed up a very steep path to Pfesa-Chaduma at a little under 6000. Counted the village in the rain and then went on to Tekhubama I.B. climbing another 1200 ft. and getting in at 6 p.m. having marched since 8.10 a.m. a very tiring march of about 17 miles. Mosquitos bad even at over 7000 ft. Chaduma were burned out last year and were waiting to be reassessed before paying revenue. They cannot, however, pay now on account of tabu, until the first of the new crop is cut. |
