upkeep of roads; an old gaonbura remembers first battle between Kekrima and the British |

The muharrir tells me that the anchorages (wooden) of the Sidzu bridge have been opened up this year and are in good condition and the wood sound. |

The bridle path runs in two places through the land of one Vetsetspu of Kekrima. The alignment has been changed more than once and he complains of damage to his fields. I told him that if a fresh alignment was made in future he could have the contract for the making of one new alignment through his land (but not for the upkeep of it). |

Just outside Kekrima I met an old old gaonbura who claimed to have taken part in the first battle between Kekrima and the British. As that was in the fifties, it would make him a centenarian or there abouts, but I rather doubt it, perhaps there was a later one. He says the Government forces came from Kidima. |
