text: 28th. To Somra Piya. - About 15 miles, where I met the Deputy Commissioner, Upper Chindwin and the Subdivisional officer of Homalin. The road runs round the Burma side of the triangular Tushom peak, which the Kukis picturesquely call "the jewel of Tushom" - TUSHOM KICHING (they call Saramuti Dai-bang-mo - mount snow drop), and then North East along the ridge dividing Assam and Burma and back South East down a long spur into Somra, a very tiring march. Took up inter district cases in the afternoon.
