text: 6th. Reassessed Phoakungri. Then to Shiloi mukh, about 5 miles. Outside Phoakungri village just under the cliff I noticed a small soul house. They bury the dead inside the house, but probably at one time either put the skull in a niche in the rocks or pitched the remnants or canoe shaped coffin over the edge of the cliff as Laruri do when they have broken up their dead at the sowing to put the bones in the granary; as in Laruri a pole of first-fruits is set up for the benefit of the dead.
