13th. Our start was delayed by finding that two dobashis had gone off without asking to look for some camera left behind yesterday. Meanwhile the main body at the lower camp had moved off, and we did not over-take them till nearly midday. We returned our march of the 11th for about 1/3rd of the way, when the path branched to a small village never yet visited on the north side of the Kamku ridge. Here Capt. Kingdon Ward left us for Laruri while we went on towards the village, a very difficult pleasant march towards the end as we had to march round the contours of an almost precipitous hill through a tangle of creepers and undergrowth, camping uncomfortably on a steep declivity in a nullah called Lukuku at 5700 ft. on the south side of the Kamku Range, about 12 miles. A primula was collected on the south side of the range. |
