14th. Over the Kamku ridge at 6800 ft. to the small and squalid Yimtsung village of Temoru, known to Semas as Sanumi, where we camped in a very pleasant spot among pines and long grass about 2 miles short of the village. The march to the camp only about ten miles, through very pleasant country but with exceedingly stiff gradients. While the men and coolies were making camp we went on with a small escort to the village, a squalid place recently built and remarkable only for some exceptionally large Kaka heads, and a very fine view of Saramati, now of course free from cloud. About 10 miles. |
