text: Went with the ship's surgeon, W.F. Blandford (a Cambridge man) by 10.45 a.m. train to Aix en Provence, where we visited the Cathedral & other churches & the Musee P. Arbaud, which has an interesting library & many objects of local interest etc. Very hot there. We took the 4.45 p.m. train back, arriving at Marseilles at 6.5. Blandford returned
