text: 5th Sept. To Asalu 7 miles. 7.30 - 11.30. It rained without stopping all the way. Turned off to visit Longkai. After lunch it cleared up and we went down to visit Asalu village and the old fort. The village sacrificed three mithan a few days ago and the meat has ripened so rapidly that we had to walk about holding our noses. Our Dobashis displayed their red cloths in the village with great pride.
