Deputation from Nokhu; news of slaves |
text: |
To a stream below Yukao (sq.1936) - 12 miles. A very tiring day. After dropping down to a stream we climbed up to Sangpurr at 8000 feet, and then went on for two hours down the far slope. The only camping site we could find was cramped and uncomfortable. |

At Sangpurr we heard that an embassy from Nokhu was at Panso. I sent for them and two men arrived in camp in the evening. They turned out to be from a small khel only, so I said men from all ten morungs of the village must meet me at Panso the day after tomorrow. To my query regarding the slaves they captured from Wui and Kenchung they replied that the stir we have caused has made them return them all. This will need verification. |
