text: To Mokokchung - 12 miles. A telegram was waiting for me with the news of King Edward's renunciation of the throne and the Duke of York's accession.
text: A bad attempt has been made to grade the path up and it was more tiring than a steep Naga path. It took us four hours in hot sun to climb a little over 3000 feet. Longmisa, Chuchu and Mokoktsu rice beer in vats was ready for the coolies, while friends and relations with special brews swarmed along the path. At Mokokchung the stream of visitors began soon after I arrived and continued at intervals till long after dark.
