My dear Balfour,

With the noise of much packing around me I write.... But I hate leaving the Naga Hills. I wonder if I shall ever be sent back. My last tour was to Mokokchung - nothing but goodbyes. Really I am rather glad it's over. But I am sorely tempted to cut my leave a little short and have one more peep at them before I go down to the plains and am no more seen....
