The Naga Hills is a funny place. You think you have collected everything in it and then one day you find you haven't. I've packed two parcels to go by post to you. This trip I have been nosing round for toys, and found a very clever carver in the E. Angami village of Kulazu Bagwemi who has a hobby of making models - and very good models too. You will like the carved house front, if it arrives safely, as I hope it will. You will see that a plank above the door is missing. It might be worth having one made and coloured to match. I have a pair of "house-horns" too, but they wouldn't go into the box. They were made separately, and I'm not sure if the scale is the same as that of the house front. If it is they might be set up with it when I send them. Two puzzles are new to me, as is the employment of pigs' trotters for the amusement of the young! (I shall try it). |
