I went down to the river valley and found many elephant tracks. The herd has come up and stayed a long time this year. A month ago I refused to shoot a tusker who had stayed behind and these are doing no harm at present. They refuse to be frightened by men. A long march brought me to Khevima which I counted. Their physique is in great contrast to Vipoma and the village show no decrease. (38b) There is one Nepali grazier on their land. In the evening I went on to Zubra. |
