Very windy night, and cold. Did not go out to see sunrise. Found our time 1 hr. ahead of Imphal time. Altered watches. Got Permanganate, Iodine, Boric Ointment and 3 bandages from hospital. Bandages pretty Katcha. Succeeded in collecting Peter's tape-worm just before breakfast - including head. Dosed him with worm capsules. [3]. Jeff went off to do jobs. |

While sitting about in a.m. keeping eye on Peter, Jeff hailed us and said woman was weaving in sun down below. Went down with cameras and sketch-book and found 2 women weaving, one doing the twill or diamond pattern band on on a black and red cloth. |

In evening, Jeff, ragging me and running round house, slipped and banged his bad knee. Shook himself up badly. Gave him a stiff whisky and dressed wound and he went to bed. Dr Babu produced Kuki mat, but too thin in pile. He also reported Jenap and Umaid unfit to march. Dr Babu a perfectly good Tangkhul from Ukhrul, complete with pierced ears. Very interested in my photos, asked for copies of two, gave him glossy of Tuinem headman and Matt of Michivam. (79) |
