Arranged to leave at 9., but what with visiting Kapuni and dressing half-a-dozen cases, including the sinus, and making a liniment (Kapuni's pain mounting) of castor oil, whisky and mustard in a desperate effort to get them to rub, we didn't get off till 10. Chingjaroi elder there before us, and village on the alert. Patient looking quite sprightly. Gave him tonic. Scored hen, & ring of salt. Issued medicine as far as able and so home. Unfortunately found lunch drinking-water stank of mould. Told Luikai to throw it away. Staggered back hot & perishing of thirst (sun in Namli red-hot, & Luikai complaining) and found all water tainted. I think it was from a mouldy bamboo they carried it in. |

Visited Kapuni again. Pain up in hips. Removed Antiphlogistine, issued Manget cachets, in halves, as powders. Also supply of sodium salicylate. |
