text: (36) March 29th. Jessami.
text: Jangsang tells me he has talked to the headmen, and it was jadu at the gate. Headman says if he could locate the culprit they would heave him out of the village. Thought he was in a bit of a state when I showed it to him.
text: Frightful noise in Jangsang's hut at 5a.m. Stood it till 5.45, then got up, yelled for Abung and had tea at 6. No patients arrived, so went up to village and coped there. Old gaonbura has bronchitis. Jangsang dealt with Naga sores; wretched woman made whole crowd stand back and cover up. How Jangsang stood it I don't know. Returned to basha and learned river swimmable in. Deep pools. Hope I can manage a bathe.
text: Sudden surprise - dak sent by Mrs D. 1/2lb Cinchona, 10c.c. S.U.P. from Paddy, 2 letters from Humps to Bombay, letters from Cooks', Mullick's (no wool) & Kodak; wire to boat from Pat, & parcel of cine films. Gave man 3 chips.
text: In p.m. went to Jangsang's hut; drank zu, & listened to Jangsang & the other 3 Kukis & the Tangkhuls singing. Luikai & Chinaorang & the Saknio Bros. a good quartette.
