to Thapa, a Cachari village |
text: |
A Cachari village, with the perao down in a hollow, no roof to the bathroom and what wall there was about waist-high. Got a mat fixed round; but still no roof. Quarrel of sorts in the cookhouse; subsequently turned out Hainingba heard the young men say they wanted to spear him. Crowds for dispensary, all clamouring at once for impossible things and cross when they didn't get them. |

On way down went into little 4-house village, (Naga). Small though it was, it had enough Naga sores for six! Fell to work among the scaffolding of an incipient dekachang. The flies were grand. |
