text: Jhuming of virgin jungle: the owner of land on which anyone else cuts jhums in virgin jungle must give the cutter a pig as recompense for his troubles in felling the heavy timber - even if the jhuming was done without his consent. He is, of course, entitled to the regular rent on his land once it is under cultivation.
