The Central Nzemi village is built either on a high saddle, as are Hangrum and Nenglo, or more often on the ridge of a spur running down from a higher range, as are Laisong, Kepelo, Asalu, Impoi, Hange and many others. Several considerations influence the choice of site: altitude, water-supply, natural defensive strength, extent, and nearness to adequate land for cultivation. |
