At any time between 18 and 25 the youth marries. The match may be arranged by his parents, but in many cases the youth chooses the girl himself as a result of a leoseoki courtship. If the match is arranged by the parents, both the youth and the girl are consulted and the match is abandoned if either finds the projected union repugnant. If the youth chooses his own partner, his choice is subject to the approval of his parents, who are responsible for the payment of the bride-wealth. [27 [Record T86787][Record T86788] |
