Arr'd at Dunsiri Mukh abt 4 o/c. Found my party waiting there with Mr Ogle, Mr Cay & a E-I man Sullivan. Ordered Ogle on with me & all came on board abt 10pm to go up and in to Golaghat via Ningri Ting. |

Got away abt 8am & passed the Mukh abt 9.30. Banks of river have somewhat altered their appearance & a few trees are seen dotted among the miles of grass. While in places the alluvium is seen to be much older & of dark coloured earthy & ferruginous clays near water line & these banks appear to be much more permanent. They are here & there capped with 2 or 3 feet of the fine white sand. Arr'd at Ningri Ting in the evening. Several old people came o/b & a good deal of singing & noise went on upon deck. I was feeling very seedy & retired to cabin early - but not to sleep !! |

Next morning landed. To my most utter disgust I found Mr Perry had mislaid my tents & they cd not be discov'd & I was kept waiting a good hour while the hold was being looked over but they were not to be found so left without them. Walked with Mr Ogle to Ningri Ting Tea Garden, Mr Stocke's. Found Brookes there who had gone on solus upon the elephant which was rather good consid'g he had stated his intention of going with us & throwing in his luck with ours. Mr Stockes was out in the Garden but came in abt 11 o/c & we had bkfast. He very kindly lent me his mare & I started on her abt 4 o/c for the camp wh: had gone on to a DPW Bungalow - abt 3 miles out. I was still very seedy & could get through no dinner. |
