text: Sunday 9th.
text: Up early. Went with Butler to see after arrangements for grave, coffin etc. and back to bungalow. Huttman and others turned up they were sent off to Brooks' for breakfast. Dressed. Breakfast about 12. After went over to the cutchery. Looked at my poor friend for the last time and helped to place him in his coffin. Everything was ready & all fellows came by 2 p.m. when we buried him. Present W. Butler, Col. Tulloch, Matthews, Stevenson. 2 Wallaces. BuckingSEE. Elliott, Huttman, Mackay, Allen. Col Tulloch read the service. Wrote to Peet, Gray, Clarke. La Touche and Fred came in almost 4 p.m. Went for stroll with Fred in evening.
