Did not start till about 8.30 as the villagers brought in a good deal of rice (8 or 9 maunds) at 6 and we had to get it served out, the coolies being full. Went down to the Chichung. Walked for a couple of hours. Bathe and breakfast. After plane tabled up to Changyemdi. These two villages are emigrations from Solachu. Bad camp and very little water. Memaram said there was plenty but it seemed there was not. Hinde found some a long way off and some of the fellows went there for it. Dined out in the open, the Colonel not appearing. |

Changyemdi are two small and apparently poor villages and afraid of us more or less. They brought in many bad eggs and lots of beer (watered) a few fowls etc. etc. |
