Got up early. Started with Hinde and Ogle for Tobu village. Steep descent to fine stream and stiff ascent through jooms. At one place found 3 goats and 3 dogs tied up on either side of road and green boughs planted. Went on taking one dog with us and releasing the other two (leaving goats). Met and were overtaken by some of the villagers with beer and a fowl. Went through the village. Worked and returned to jooms. Some goats and dogs had been tied up for us at village but we only took one goat. Worked and returned. Got back about 6. Left all goats behind as they delayed us too much. Did not get much dinner as the rain swamped the messhouse in the middle, so went to bed. |
