text: (crossed out: Col. Keatinge). Camp Pangti 26/12/75.
text: We were attacked yesterday at midday near (crossed out: between) Pangti, and Captain Butler badly wounded by a spear (crossed out: thrown from above which pierced) in the right breast. Progressing favourably (crossed out: We have good hopes of his recovery). Special messengers were despatched at once for a surgeon to Golaghat and we encamped near the place of attack. Col. Tulloch (crossed out: proceeded this morning with a small force to Pangti and burnt it.) attacked and destroyed Pangti today. R.G.W.
