text: From Sachima stockade to Kohima is ten miles. Total distance from Samaguting thirty-eight miles. The track lies south-east, crosses the Zubzu, and passes the site of the village of Merima. There is a fairly strong bridge over the Zubzu between Keruma and Merima, but the river is fordable, except in the rains. It may be noted here that the so-called political path after crossing the Zubzu proceeds in a north-easterly direction, via Nerhama and Themokadima to Woka. The entire distance from Samaguting to Woka is eighty-eight miles; and from Woka to Golaghat via Doyang, Nang Sang Pani, and Mera Jan, is 60 miles.- Captain C.R. Mac Gregor, 44th Sylhet Light Infantry.
