text: 17th December, Saturday. Marched into Golaghat.
text: 18th December, Sunday. Halted. In the course of the day I received a visit from Mr Ogle, the Assistant Surveyor deputed to map out the boundary between Munnipur and Assam, who informed me he had arrived in Golaghat on Saturday afternoon and hope to continue his route to Samaguting as soon as ever he could obtain carriage.
text: 19th December, Monday. The Commissioner accompanied by Captain Blathway arrived this morning.
text: 20th December, Tuesday. Halted. Was occupied most of the day in arranging for boats to convey stores both public and private on to Dimapur. The river has got so low now that none but 10 maund boats can go up it.
text: 21st December, Wednesday. We, (that is to say Colonel Agnew and I) marched into Borpathar.
text: 22nd December, Thursday. Marched into Hurrojan.
text: 23rd December, Friday. Marched into Dimapur.
text: 24th December, Saturday. Marched into Samaguting.
