text: [2] 4th January, Wednesday. Having heard from Mr Browne (who has been appointed Special Boundary Commissioner, to decide the question of the Munnipur boundary) that he was anxious that the Surveyor to be attached to the party should proceed it if possible and prepare a map showing both the boundary as claimed by Dr. Brown and also that pointed out by me as being identical with the line defined by Captain Gordon and Lieutenant Bigge in 1842 I have considered it advisable to accompany the survey party on to the boundary line in question, on reaching which I propose after pointing it out to Mr. Ogle, the Assistant Surveyor to return to the station in time to meet Mr. Browne with whom I shall again return to the Frontier. With this and in view I made over charge of the Deputy Commissioner's office to Mr. James and accompanied by Mr. Ogle marched into Meziphemah.
