[16] 7th March, Thursday. Moved camp to Gariphemah, a very short march of only about 4 miles. The first 3 miles led us down a moderately gentle descent to the Zullo River where we enjoyed a very jolly, though very cold swim in one of its big pools, and I was rather amused to hear the comments of our Naga coolies on the fairness of our skins. Some of them appear to have had doubts as to whether we were all white, and I think others would not have been at all surprised if they had discovered we were piebald. Having breakfasted at the Zullo, a rather stiff ascent for about a mile brought us into camp. Kezimatumah is a small village situated between and a little above the junction of the Sijas, the Zullo, the two chief feeders of the Dayang. It contains 70 houses divided as follows:-
