text: [20] 19th March. Leaving Mozemah this morning at a quarter to 7 a.m. we reached Piphema exactly at 10 a.m. Here what with breakfast and a cheroot, we awaited until half past 11 when we started again and passing through Pherima a few minutes after 2 p.m., reached Maziphemah exactly at 2.40 p.m. Here we rested until 3.15 p.m. when we started again and after another stiff walk, got into Samaguting about quarter past 6 p.m. having made a march of altogether something between 28 and 30 miles. However we are not a bit knocked up although a little tired and this I attribute more to the heat of the sun during the latter part of the journey than to the length of the journey itself. Our escort and traps of course will not be up till tomorrow.
