text: 15th December. Rode out to Borhollah and back accompanied by Mr. James, distance about 18 miles altogether.
text: Hearing from Mr. James that Major Austin and the Survey party have arrived at Golaghat, I have written in to ask Major Austin to let me know when to expect him at Samaguting and propose to halt here until I get his reply.
text: 16th December. Starting this morning about 8 a.m. from Borpothar in my RobRoy cane I went down the "Dhunsiri" River and reached the Namborjan about 2 p.m. After breakfasting at the hot springs, Mr. James and I rode out and inspected the road as far as the "Turajan" and returned to Borpothar about 6 p.m.
text: Received a note from Major Austin this evening telling me that he proposed to leave Golaghat tomorrow and would go first to the Nambor, so I hope to see him the day after tomorrow.
