Laro, a Naga of Parul or Mahamai, told me and Thomson in course of conversation that his village had been destroyed about three years ago and 73 of the houses burnt to the ground by a large party of Nagas from Megurmah Katsume and other neighbouring villages on account of an old feud. |

[8] In the evening I received a visit from some of the Nagas of Reme who said they had come to escort me to their village which they were very anxious indeed I should go and visit. These are the same fellows who wanted me to go on to their village on the occasion of our visiting Yemai. However I told them I was now off back to Samaguting but would come and visit them next year. Before they left I took the opportunity of asking them whether they had yet heard why the Shipvomah men had turned out to attack us and they told me that one Losamin of Meguemah acting under Manipur instructions had instigated the Shipvomah men to act as they had etc. |
