text: | The Kukis are very nomadic but gregarious, seldom occupying a village site more than three years, but migrating and re-settling in large bodies, sometimes sufficient for 1,000 houses. On a change of site becoming necessary, a new one is selected by the raja, and the first work executed is a dwelling-house for himself. |
