text: 35. Mr McCabe has made some further calculations as to the population of the district which was roughly estimated in the Census at 93,000. By counting 1,639 houses in 5 Angami villages, he found that the average number of persons in each house is only 3.2. This seems unduly low, and requires further examination before such an average can be accepted. His estimate of the entire population is as follows:-
