38. The sanctioned strength of the Naga Hills Frontier Police Battalion was 1 Commandant, 4 Subadars, 9 Jemadars, 43 Halvidars, and 502 sipahis and buglers. At the close of the year the number on the rolls was short of the sanctioned strength by 1 Subadar and 13 sipahis. Their behaviour on all occasions in which their services were called into requisition is said to have been exemplary. Further improvement has also been attained in the drill and musketry of the force. |
