text: 27. The Namsangias and the Borduarias are the most powerful Nagas on this frontier. They have kept up the ancient feud between themselves, but have given us no trouble. In October 1888 the Namsangias, who up that time were debarred from the plains in consequence of their conduct at the village of Dilih, described in paragraph 29 of the Report for 1887-88, came in and asked permission to trade; they had paid their fine and delivered the guns they were ordered to deliver as a punishment. The Chief expressed regret at what had happened, and the Deputy-Commissioner gave him and his people permission to trade.
