text: Our relations with this tribe have been very friendly during the year. During Captain Woods' tour in December Yampong delayed and only gave a few coolies, but they gave supplies freely. The Deputy Commissioner fined them three mithan for not supplying coolies and the subdivisional officer reports that the gaonburas had come in to say that they were bringing in the fine at once. None of these tribes has attacked or molested our villages or outposts during the year. There appears to be no doubt that amongst themselves there are many more cases of head-taking than are reported to the subdivisional officer, especially amongst the villages close to the Yangnu river. The villages of Longsa paid revenue this year for the first time and the subdivisional officer had no difficulty in realising it.
