30. The boundaries of the Sema political control area remained the same as in the previous year. Mr. Davis toured once through this political control area in July 1892 and Captain Woods made a tour through it in November 1892 with Mr. Clancey, the Executive Engineer. No serious cases of any kind were reported from the Sema political control area during the year. The only case which was brought to notice was that of a boy who was badly beaten by a Naga of Yemeshi Naghami, but the accused having fled some distance beyond the political control area, nothing could be done. Cases of head-taking by Satemi were reported, but as our villages were not concerned, no action was taken. Mr. Anley, subdivisional officer of Mokokchang, reports that the road has been finished up to Emilomi (some 30 miles from Mokokchang) and that the different villages have worked well and cheerfully on the road. The road from Cheswejuma end has been finished nearly up to Satajumi, about 10 miles from Cheswejuma. The Semas in the Doyang Valley are now quite quiet. |
