text: The great increase in impresses coolies during the year was due to the fact that some four or five hundred coolies were supplied daily during the cold weather to work on the Nichuguard-Manipur cart road. The figures in the above statement do not represent the actual number of coolies employed in the district. Coolies impressed at Wokha, Henima, and Mokokchang are not included in these figures. In addition to the above figures, come 8,000 coolies were supplied to bring rice into Kohima.
