16. The Eastern political control area was visited during the year and the villages were found to be friendly. Cheshore were at war with Huchire and Ayepungre. The behaviour of both Semas and Yachungre was generally good. Tuensang were at war with Tobu and Sangpur. Chingmei, Waoshu and Kanju made an unsuccessful attack on the Konyak village of Ukha, and Chingmei took two heads from Yimtsung-Awenrr. The village of Totok in the northern part of the control area has been ordered by the Deputy Commissioner to use only spears and daos in their wars. Yali lost one head to Yungpang and Shua were twice raided by Totok. Agching took three heads from Saonchu. The villages near the frontier were all well-behaved. Sakhalu was at war with his neighbours at Thachumi. Relations with the Nagas bordering on the Sibsagar district were friendly thoughout the year. The war between Banfera and their allies and Chopnyu and their allies continued thoughout the year. Rusa got one head from Yonghong and one member of Chopnyu village was decapitated by a hostile combination. |
