Another occasion for cooperation between all the members of a village ward was at the time of harvest, when it was essential that the rice should be transported to the village as speedily as possible. Every morning one man from every house of the quarter would go to the fields of one of their morung fellows and help him with the transport of his grain. Next day a similar team would perform the same task for another member of the ward. |
