There was three named clans of Wangsu or intermediate status in Niaunu. Their members could either marry commoners of their own village or members of clans of Wangsu status from other villages. Some named Wangsu clans occurred in several villages, and in such cases the rules of clan exogamy had to be followed even though the various lineages of one clan might have resided in different villages for many generations. |
